Amstel's new look: embossing recalls heritage

One litre PET bottle a design challenge for premium brand

P.E.T. Engineering has developed a one litre plastic bottle for Heineken brand Amstel.

According to the Italian PET containers planning and industrialisation specialist, their objective was to create a bottle with a premium look that would recall the brand’s heritage and excellence.

To achieve this, additions of glasslike engravings have been made that illustrate the brand’s history. And the label design makes use of a gold background which, as is always the case with gold in packaging design, is meant to bring to mind the brand’s excellence and its makers’ commitment to quality.

Set up in 1999, P.E.T. Engineering has an enviable client list of blue chip multinationals, including PepsiCo, Parmalat and San Pellegrino. In the brewing industry in addition to Heineken they have worked with Baltika, Carlsberg and InBev.
