Accenture solution replaces six stand-alone systems

Three-year contract for European SAP integration

Carlsberg Group has called on Accenture to deliver an SAP solution supporting six functional business areas within Western Europe. Financial terms of the three year contact have not been disclosed.

The single underlying system is designed to improve efficiency and improve customer service throughout Europe. It will replace a series of stand-alone systems currently operating in the region, and will service Carlsberg’s sales, finance, production, logistics, procurement and planning functions.

Implementation is expected to be completed during 2015. The agreement supports Carlsberg’s Business Standardisation Programme and supply chain integration.

“We chose Accenture because of their vast industry experience and our track record of successful collaborations with them over recent years,” said Iain Gow, Carlsberg vice president in charge of the BSP initiative. “Accenture understands Carlsberg and our focus on the high quality solutions needed to help us achieve our goal of continuous improvement.”

This marks the third instance in recent years that Carlsberg has partnered with Accenture. In 2011 a five year agreement was signed for the provision of applications to the European operations of Carlsberg Breweries. In 2009 an agreement was struck for support of Carlsberg’s SAP and Microsoft software implementations in Europe, and the delivery of a common enterprise resource planning platform.
