Petainer invests in yet more kit for its Swedish plant

PET packaging specialist is to invest - for the second time in less than a year - in equipment for its plant at Lidköping in Sweden.

The new kit, Husky HPP injection equipment, is to cost Petainer €2.5m and will allow the manufacturer to reduce both energy usage and noise production.

Installing it will allow Petainer to scale up its Nordic production. This means, director, group sales and marketing Philip Sanner told Brewers' Guardian, that the company can not only focus to a greater degree on innovation, but will also be in a position to get its products to market more quickly.

The equipment, said Sanner, is 'optimised for long-term sustainability', tying in with Petainer's environmentally-friendly ethos. Investing in its Nordic operation is, added chief executive Nigel Pritchard, a demonstration of the company's confidence in its Lidköping business.
