Switzerland's Bühler operates in more than 140 countries

Swiss-based Bühler has bought its French distributer

Bühler Technology, the Swiss-based process technology expert, has bought its French distributor, Maes, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1974 and based in Haguenau in Alsace, Maes specialises in products and services for the grain milling industry. It has been acting as a distributor for Bühler in France and French-speaking parts of North and West Africa for some time. A family-owned company, Maes has more than 50 staff and an annual turnover of €35m.

Bühler’s intention, in buying Maes, is to further market penetration and develop its offering in the field of installation, customer service, maintenance, overhauls and grinding roll reconditioning, the company said in a statement. Maes’ operations will continue under the current management, and will be integrated into the Bühler France organisation, sitting within the sales and services division.
