Transitions: Dr Werner Glossner & Dr Wolfgang Stempfl

Munich-based international brewing industry institute has new GM

There’s a new general manager at Doemens, the suburban Munich-based international institute for training and development in the brewing and food industries. Dr Werner Glossner took up the role on 4th October.

He’ll be working alongside the out-going general manager, Dr Wolfgang Stempfl, who will assist with the transition until departing in August 2017.

Glossner, 50, will be most familiar in the brewing industry for his most recent employment, for the past 14 years as head of the Bavarian brewers association, Private Brauereien Bayern.

Trained as a brewing and beverage technology engineer, he began his career with Roland Berger Business Consultants, moving on to positions at Schörghuber, Inc. and subsequently Paulaner.

Amongst his day-to-day responsibilities, Glossner is also tasked with bringing to fruition the institute’s vision for the future, Doemens 2020.

Dr. Albert Doemens founded the institute in 1895, which today employs 33 staff and faculty and has its headquarters in Gräfelfing. Beyond its regular training programmes, Doemans also works to train beer sommeliers and offers laboratory and consultancy services.
