Rolec wins Meantime contract

London microbrewer Meantime has named German firm Rolec as the contract-winner
in its new £1.5 million brewery project.
The Bavarian company will supply the new Meantime plant with a 100hl-brewhouse.
The project will be managed by British firm M-Projects.
“Rolec are uniquely placed to combine traditional brewing engineering
expertise, at which the Germans are unsurpassed, with an understanding of modern
uninhibited brewing methods,” said Meantime brewmaster Alastair Hook.
The brewer claims the new plant will be one of the most technologically
advanced in the UK, and will allowing capacity to be boosted to an eventual
total of 100,000hl. Some 30 tanks will be moved from the brewer’s existing
facility over time.
Rolec’s client list features some of the giants of the US craft brewing
scene, including Stone, Magic Hat, Victory and Brooklyn. Hook added: “It makes
sense to work with a company that reflects Meantime’s values entirely.”
As well as the transportation of existing tanks, M-Projects will be responsible
for relocating keg and bottling lines into the new plant. M-Projects’
operations director Matthew Hawden said: “We have great respect for Meantime;
they’re pushing the boundaries of crafted, UK-brewed beer in all
directions.”
