Chris McDonough will take over as the brewer’s marketing director in June after leaving dairy giant Muller, where he is currently marketing and R&D director and Irish general manager. “Filling one of the highest profile marketing roles in the UK was never going to be easy,” said MCUK chief executive Mark Hunter. “But after an extensive international search we knew we had found the right person and are delighted to welcome someone of Chris' calibre to join the UK board.” Following Chris’ arrival, existing interim marketing director David Preston will take over the newly created role of director of commercial innovation. Preston will report directly to McDonough. McDonough – whose varied career has spanned marketing roles with Bacardi Martini, Mars and German Pet Care – will oversee the strategy for Molson Coors’ wide portfolio of beers, which includes Grolsch, Coors Light, Singa and Blue Moon. He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining a company with the international pedigree of Molson Coors. With a leadership team so committed to building people and brands, it represents another exciting opportunity for me in my career.”
