Burkert Fluid Control Systems
A new, integrated controller concept from Burkert with pre-configured control systems and background components prevents coordination problems among the individual components and ensures fast, trouble-free commissioning.
With the eControl 8611, Burkert provides a high-performance universal controller for flow rate, pressure, temperature, pH value, conductivity and ratio between fluid and gas flow, and therefore the basis for an extremely flexible control system. It can be commissioned quickly and covers a wide range of different applications.
During the initial configuration of a controller, the intelligent, pre-parameterised controller requests all information needed for configuration of the control circuit. The interactive configuration process is based on the process parameter, followed by the type of control valve and the choice of the sensor inlet.
Suitable valves are proportional valves (PWM signal). constant control valves (with 4-20mA or 0-10V control signal) or simple on/off valves for two-point or three-point for time-proportional control. With the choice of a proportional valve as the control valve, for example, all valve-specific variables are automatically requested and pre-set.

Hubbard Ice Systems / Clenaware
Specialist independent website www.flatbeer.co.uk, which offers impartial advice for solving beer presentation and dispensing problems, is highlighting the importance of glass washing quality and consistency.
The site is run by a brewery trained technical service engineer and is based on his daily experiences with flat beer in the pubs, bars and clubs that he visits.
The site reports that the second biggest problem licensee's can have with their beers, lagers and ales is poor head retention or beer that is flat in the glass. It goes on to draw licensee's attention to the practicalities of glass washing and the impact that it can have on sales and profitability, saying: "Beer is very fussy about glasses. If you don't give your beer a clean, cool dry glass, the head on it will disappear very quickly."
The solution is a glass dryer, with the site's recommended system the Clenaware Sovereign glass washer and Clenaware Airack Drying Unit. The site also praises Clenaware's freshwater rinse approach to glass washing and draws particular attention to the problems associated with stale water glass washers.

Symrise GmbH & Co KG
Citrus is a key flavouring in practically every segment of the beverage market. It's evident in non-alcoholic beverages such as citrus sodas, fruit juices or fruit-juice beverages, but beyond that, 35-40% of all alcoholic drinks are flavoured with citrus.
And there is not only demand for the classic orange, lemon or lime - people also want exotic varieties, from limequat to yuzu all the way to calamansi. The Symrise citrus solutions are as multi-facetted as the flavourings themselves. The company emphasises customised and application-specific beverage solutions and continues to discover new and different citrus varietals.
Creating the desired beverage with the right flavouring is always a challenge. Blended beer beverages behave differently than flavoured vodkas or carbonated soft drinks: clouding, precipitation and similar problems have to be ruled out. One extremely important aspect is stability, which is heavily influenced by oxidation and ingredients such as acids or alcohol. With its umbrella brand Naturally Citrus!, Symrise offers clients the greatest possible security - and of course optimal quality.
