Lao Brewery's Soren Lauridsen to take on role

Carlsberg has appointed a new managing director of its Indian operations following the departure of former boss Pradeep Gidwani to pursue his own business ventures.

Soren Lauridsen, current deputy managing director of Carlsberg’s joint venture with the Laotian government Lao Brewery, will take over the helm of Carlsberg India on February 1st.

“We’re very pleased about Soren’s appointment to this key leadership role in the Asia region,” said the Danish brewer’s senior VP for Asia Roy Bagattini, who Lauridsen will be reporting to.

“His strong track record and wealth of commercial experience equips him particularly well to lead our young business through its early stages of development in this complex, high growth potential market.”

Lauridsen joined Carlsberg in 2005 as VP for marketing in the firm’s Polish business. He will relocate to India with his family in early February but will assist in the transition period from his current base in Laos. His successor at Lao Brewery has not yet been found.
