Guinness, Kilkenny stay in Germany
Warsteiner Group, Diageo renew national distribution agreement
Irish favourites Guinness and Kilkenny are to remain in German shops and bars thanks to brand owner Diageo and the Warsteiner Group agreeing an extension to their distribution agreement.
Warsteiner has a further three years to distribute Guinness Extra Stout and Kilkenny Irish Beer, available in six packs of 0.33 litre returnable bottles. Guinness is also sold in 0.44 litre cans. Boxes of 11 half-litre returnable bottles were added to the Guinness range early this year.
“We are pleased to be continuing our successful cooperation with Diageo,” said Warsteiner retail sales director Nils Handke. “In recent years we have been able to integrate the two international premium brands into our portfolio and have achieved considerable double-digit growth rates with Guinness and Kilkenny since the start of the cooperation.”
Warsteiner became Diageo’s exclusive distributor for Guinness and Kilkenny in Germany in 2005.
